HollyWagers.com American Idol 6 Official Wagering Guide

And so Jordin walks away a winner, ending the long season with her glory coronation ballad. The odds said she would. She'll make a cute album. And now we'll recover and rest...until January.

At the beginning of the season, Jocelyn said not to bank on Jordin because a youngster had never won American Idol. In fact, if you hadn't listened to Jocelyn you could have gotten Jordin at 12 to 1 (AND there was a bet out there that you could make about whether the winner of season six would be younger than 24 - you would probably have cleaned up). Jordin wasn't perfect, and she did show some youthful break downs, but you know why we loved her? She never got confused about being 17. She loves Hanson! She'll win it. And we'll buy the album. So will a lot of people. Barry Gibb said so.

DONE GONE FROM THE GAME

Brandon Rogers
We had high hopes for Brandon, but he's was, well, BORING. Randy, Simon and Paula kept telling us that we hadn't seen the real Brandon yet, but time ran out before we ever did, it looks like. He wasn't the only one who forgot his words on week one, but he was the one who forgot his words while dancing...badly.
Odds When He Got Booted : 25/1

Stephanie Edwards
Two REALLY BORING performances in a row did Stephanie in, and she was the first of the final 12 to be the victim of "diva-cancellation". You can't deny that the girl had pipes and great stage presence, but she sounded and looked the same every week. America's attention span is not that long.
Week One Odds: 15/1
Odds When She Got Booted: 12/1

Chris Sligh
We sent Chubby back: bye, bye Chris Sligh. Southerners, and particularly those from the Carolinas, have done well. Chris' personality won over TV-watching Americans across the nation. But Taylor Hicks won last year. We would have been surprised to see a male Southern blues and rock type win. Chris couldn't sing in time with the music, and America got tired of yelling "fro patro." Sorry.
Week One Odds: 10/1
Week Two Odds: 10/1
Odds When He Got Booted : 12/1

Gina Glocksen
This was her best week ever and we, like, everybody, loved her. Can a female rocker be the last one standing? Jocelyns thinks not, Toni thinks yes. What may help her is the Diva Squad canceling each other out and her individuality playing to her advantage. And not ever putting me to sleep with "Love Child" again.
Week One Odds: 25/1
Week Two Odds: 27/1
Week Three Odds: 27/1
Odds When She Got Booted: 28/1

Haley Scarnato
I was bored. I was so bored every time she sang. I might not have been bored if I were a heterosexul man, but I was bored. Sweet girl, nice voice, we were all bored.
Week One Odds: 25/1
Week Two Odds: 25/1
Week Three Odds: 28/1
Week Four Odds: 30/1
Odds When She Got Booted: 50/1

Sanjaya Malakar
Oh, Sanjaya! America will miss you so! Miss you SO! You were the most entertaining thing on television in YEARS. It was almost better that you couldn't sing all that well. In the end, your odds got as tight at 2/1 before country week. What I know for sure is that you will get a record deal. And people will buy that record. And welcome to America.
Week One Odds: 12/1
Week Two Odds: 17/1
Week Three Odds: 22/1
Week Four Odds: 12/1
Week Five Odds: 8/1
Odds When He Got Booted : 5/2

Phil Stacey
Jocelyn had Phil as her sleeper pick, but she's ready to admit she was wrong. Her theory? Phil would have a "Josh Gracin" effect. He's nice looking, a family man and in the military. What Jocelyn didn't account for though is that Phil is not as good as Josh Gracin was. She'll take it. She was wrong. But let's be real: finishing in the top six was super good for him.
Week One Odds: 12/1
Week Two Odds: 14/1
Week Three Odds: 17/1
Week Four Odds: 27/1
Week Five Odds: 35/1
Week Six Odds: 45/1
Odds When He Got Booted : 45/1

Chris Richardson
You knew he was short for this world when Ryan actually jokingly introduced him as "Justin Timberlake." Once that joke gets made at that time and spot, you're gone. Eventually, too much nasal against too many big pipes.
Week One Odds: 11/2
Week Two Odds: 11/2
Week Three Odds: 8/1
Week Four Odds: 9/1
Week Six Odds: 20/1
Week Five Odds: 25/1
Odds When He Got Booted: 30/1

Lakisha Jones
Barry Gibb week was not kind to Lakisha, but then again it wasn't so kind to anybody. In the end, Kiki disco danced her way out to the Chris Daughtry power ballad. We all knew there couldn't be three divas in the final three, and Jordin and Melinda were just too strong.
Week One Odds: 3/1
Week Two Odds: 3/1
Week Three Odds: 2/1
Week Four Odds: 4/1
Week Five Odds: 5/1
Week Six Odds: 5/1
Week Seven Odds: 9/1
Odds When She Got Booted:12/1

Melinda Doolittle
Melinda may just have been too consistent. Did we get a little bit bored with seeing her deliver solidly every week? Was it the fact that Blake's performance of that Robin Thicke song was a little questionable and it rallied his voters? Anyway you cut it, Melinda was the best performer of final three, but ALWAYS the most likely to get voted out that week. You don't feel the sense of adventure with her that you did with Blake or Jordin. And, possibly, having her sing an Ike & Tina song that half the nation didn't know was a bit unfair. That is all.
Week One Odds: 2/1
Week Two Odds: 1/1
Week Three Odds: 1/2
Week Four Odds: 1/2
Week Five Odds: 3/2
Week Six Odds: 3/4
Week Seven Odds: 5/6
Final Four Odds: 7/5
Odds When She Got Booted: 7/5

Blake Lewis
Blake. Blake, Blake, Blake, Blake. Predictions are that Jordin will blow him out of the water, and we agree. He barely made it into the final, and Paula SCREWED him with that Sting song, which is really hard to sing. Sure, he's beatboxed his way into America's hearts, but will that really matter against America's Sweetheart, Jordin Sparks?
Week One Odds: 4/1
Week Two Odds: 8/1
Week Three Odds: 9/1
Week Four Odds: 7/2
Week Five Odds: 4/1
Week Six Odds: 4/1
Week Seven Odds: 4/1
Final Four Odds: 7/2
Final Three Odds: 5/2
Final Odds:+250
